Whatsapp effect

YES it is fun to catch up with our old friends, I’ve been added into 4 school groups, leading into late night chats some goes upto 1-2am also.  the topic starts with the current status of each other and goes on to gossips from school days.

How far is the late night chats affecting our very next morning productivity.

i’m an early to bed and early to raise person, fell into this trap for about 2 months that made me wakeup with the burning eyes. and pulling me away from achieving my day to day goals. then decided to catch up with my old schedule of going to bed by 9pm, max before 10pm and wakeup by 4am.

I noticed few of our employee performance begin to slide bit by bit since the whatsapp group slowly started spreading to others as well, then i started noting down their last seen status in whatsapp for a month starting from Nov 2014.

Since i wake up by 4am i was able to note the last seen status when they went to bed and that was shocking the timing was starting from 11pm, 12am, 1am, the most stunning was it went even to 2am – 3am. i’ll also check it again by 7am-7.30am to see when they got-up.

How can one sleep between 1am-3am everyday and wake up in the morning get ready and go to work and help the company to generate more revenue? they will be like zombies working from 10am to 6pm.

Maybe after reading this post our employees will avoid late night chats or they will block me from seeing their last seen status.

Employees are the pillar of each and every company, kindly don’t get distracted, focus on the work, that will help grow you and the company.

Justdial experience

At bizsol we have registered with justdial for the keywords ERP & CRM, 4 months ago.

We started getting calls from few of them saying I’ve customer who is looking for a CRM solution and whether we will be interested to give commission if they redirect to us. We are like sure YES!

We also get calls for job requirement, still the call rate was higher on the commission side.

It has been 2 months we have not closed a single sale from justdial, I’ve started my small research and found that anyone can register with Justdial, even if they don’t develop the product nor a direct distributor for any product, yet they occupy almost every keyword related to computers.

E.g: if a web designing company has taken a higher package and also listed in ERP & CRM keywords, although there is less enquiry for our category, they are listed on top and the enquiries go to them. Since they are not into this business they use google or other medium to find a real company who has ERP/CRM product and cut a deal with them.

When I contacted them to cancel our service, asked them why should I pay to justdial and commission to another person for the same set of leads? Their solution to this “go for higher package!”.

We are already spending for google and facebook ads which is giving really good response.

So I didn’t take up the higher package nor continue with the old one. Justdial stopped our service but still we get calls from the people who has registered in our category.

Conclusion: There is lot of opportunity to tap in this method by investing 20k per year, redirect the leads to a real company, earn commission.

Sylvestar Stallone Life

This is one of the SADDEST stories ever told in Hollywood. His name is Sylvestar Stallone. One of the BIGGEST and Most famous American Movie superstars. Back in the day,Stallone was a
struggling actor in every definition. At some point,he got so broke that he stole his wife’s jewellery and sold it. Things got so bad that he even ended up homeless. Yes,he slept at the New York bus station for 3 days. Unable to pay rent or afford food. His lowest point came when he tried to sell his dog at the liquor store to any
stranger. He didnt have money to feed the dog anymore. He sold it at $25 only. He says he walked away crying.

Two weeks later,he saw a boxing match between Mohammed Ali and Chuck Wepner and that match gave him the inspiration to write the script for the famous movie,ROCKY. He wrote the
script for 20 hours! He tried to sell it and got an offer for $125,000 for the script. But he had just ONE REQUEST. He wanted to STAR in
the movie. He wanted to be the MAIN ACTOR. Rocky himself. But the studio said NO. They wanted a REAL STAR.

They said he “Looked funny and talked funny”. He left with his script. Afew weeks later, the studio offered him $250,000 for the script. He refused. They even offered $350,000. He still refused. They wanted his movie. But NOT him. He said NO. He had to be
IN THAT MOVIE.

After a while, the studio agreed, gave him $35,000 for the script and let him star in it! The rest is history! The movie won Best Picture,Best Directing and Best Film Editing at the prestigious
Oscar Awards. He was even nominated for BEST ACTOR! The Movie ROCKY was even inducted into the American National Film Registry as one of the greatest movies ever!

And do You know the first thing he bought with the $35,000? THE DOG HE SOLD. Yes,Stallone LOVED HIS DOG SO MUCH that he stood at the liquor store for 3 days waiting for the man he sold
his dog to. And on the 3rd day,he saw the man coming with the dog. Stallone explained why he sold the dog and begged for the dog back. The man refused. Stallone offered him $100. The
man refused. He offered him $500. And the guy refused. Yes,he refused even $1000. And,Believe it or Not,Stallone had to pay $15,000 for the same, same dog he sold at $25 only! And he
finally got his dog back!

And today, the same Stallone who slept in the streets and sold his dog JUST BECAUSE he couldnt even feed it anymore,is one of the GREATEST Movie Stars who ever walked the Earth!

Being broke is BAD. Really BAD. Have You ever had a dream? A wonderful dream? But You are too broke to implement it? Too tiny to do it? Too small to accomplish it? Damn! I’ve been there too many times!

Life is tough. Opportunities will pass you by,just because you are a
NOBODY. People will want your products but NOT YOU. Its a tough
world. If you aint already famous,or rich or “connected”,You will find it rough.
Doors will be shut on You. People will steal your glory and crash your hopes. You will push and push. And yet NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

And then your hopes will be crashed. You will be broke. Damn broke. You will do odd jobs for survival. You will be unable to feed yourself. And Yes,you may end up sleeping in the streets.
It happens. Yes,it does.

BUT NEVER LET THEM CRUSH THAT DREAM.
Whatever happens to You,Keep Dreaming.
Even when they crush your hopes,Keep Dreaming.
Even when they turn you away,Keep Dreaming.
Even when they shut you down,Keep Dreaming.

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF EXCEPT YOURSELF! People will judge You by HOW you look. And by WHAT You have.
But please,Fight on! Fight for Your place in history. Fight for your glory. NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

Even if it means selling all your clothes and sleeping with the dogs,ITS OKAY! But AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL ALIVE,Your STORY IS NOT OVER. TRUST ME.

Keep Up the Fight. Keep your dreams and hope alive. Go gerrit.

Difference between literate and illiterate

IMG_5931A small story I heard.

Few college students wanted to do some survey about cow grinding the sesame, so they headed to a near by village.

They saw an old man setting up the cow on the track to grind the oil from sesame. After watching the cow for a while the old man went to his hut for his breakfast. Meanwhile one of them headed to the hut and asked the old man “you left the cow without supervision, won’t it stop circling?”

The old man : ” do you see the bell around the cows neck, that will notify me when it stops.”

Student : ” how can you say the cow is moving, what if it stands in one place and keep shaking its head?”

The old man looked deep into his eyes and asked “do you go to college?”

Student : huh?

Old man said ” glad that I didn’t send my cows to college ”

Doesn’t this make us think………………?

Hurting 2 young Girls feeling by not keeping their word

Kumudam_Welcomes_UI’ve been running ModelsOnly from 2007, for the past one year my younger sister is heading it after completing her engineering.

This happened on Oct 2012.

We got a call from Kumadum asking for a South Indian model for their cover page and they are not willing to pay, since it would help our model we accepted it . We searched the models in our database whom have done a portfolio with the half saree or full saree, we found a model and sent her pic to the Kumadum , it got published on Dec 2012.

They also asked few more pic like that, we in turn said we will do a photoshoot according to your requirement if you want, they told us the requirement and also said they will not pay us for this but will do an article on my sister & ModelsOnly. We said fine and went ahead to do the shoot, so that we will be getting some coverage.

We convinced the female model to do this photoshoot for free so that she will be on the cover page and this will be good for her modelling career too.

My sister finished the shoot on time and gave it to them, they also told the photos has come out really well, she also gave her interview for the article.

Here comes the twist

The photo of the model and my sisters interview hasn’t published yet it has been more than 8 months, they keep saying the photographers inside the press are not allowing to publish and the group editor is doing some politics.

We have nothing to loose except the rent for the studio.

The word Kumadum gave us that the model will be coming on the cover page and the word they gave to my sister that her interview will be published has been vanished.

They have hurt these 2 young girls feeling who are trying to outstand in the society.

Disgusting

Story behind bizsol

logo

In 2008 I got a project from a US company to develop a Web based CRM (Customer Relationship Management)  similar to sugarCRM

though the budget was not big enough to deploy few experienced people, we went ahead and deployed a team of 4 in that 3 are freshers and 1 about 6 months experience with asp.net

I know that’s the worst decision I took on that period

We got a free account from sugarCRM for the team to copy the workflow, after few days I came to know that they can’t even copy it correctly, but still I gave them 2 months time, I spent my entire day with them to follow the workflow, still they are not able to do it.

3rd month I returned the advance to the client, yet I didn’t tell this to the team I wanted them to learn from this project, the so called project went on for another 3months with lot of bugs.

I felt the team started to loose hope in them, so I stopped the project and moved them to another but still I haven’t made any money out of them, I was forced to delay the salary and few months later I was unable to pay them for the next 2 months, later the team members left one by one. Though the project didn’t get out of my head I desperately wanted to do a CRM.

After 2yrs I got the time to think about developing a CRM, I started to collect the issues with the current CRM users and contacting few companies why they are not using a CRM, that gave me an awesome concept of developing a new type of CRM that is affordable to the SMB’s (Small and Medium Businesses’s)

2010 was a major turning point for my company, we entirely came out of microsoft proprietary language and moved to open source.

I started looking for a rockstar programmer to make my dream come true, I started interviewing quite a lot of candidates on some open source platform, I found few best candidates but they were expensive. Since this project is going to be fully funded by me, I can’t afford high salaries for the programmers, if at all i hire them our main motive of developing the CRM for SMB’s (Small and Medium Businesses’s) will be destroyed.

When I was in the process of finding the programmers within my budget, one of our property in madurai was getting vacated by the tenant, then I was struck by the idea of opening an office at madurai for this project.

I felt there are more advantages in this decision, then i started to find freshers and experienced located in madurai, my main criteria was the candidate should stay with their family so that they will not leave madurai, in this process I found only few are like that, some asked to place them in our chennai office.

I did’t discuss anything about the CRM project, I selected 8 of them combination of 5 programmers and 3 designers.
I gave them small projects to start with, after a month and a half I was left over with 3 programmers.

With 3 of them in hand I started my dream project and named it bizsol as you can guess the name has been derived from Business Solution on feb 2011, one more developer was sent away after starting bizsol, I was left with 2, one of them will guide the other it went on like this for almost 10 months and we have completed about 30% of bizsol.

One more left by Dec 2011.

Rahamathdulla the one and only rockstar programmer in hand who can code, maintain the DB and handle CSS, bizsol is going steady without loosing any focus!

We are entering 2012, going to hit our first anniversary of bizsol dev in a month

We also had some set backs by the end of 2011, Rahamathdulla beloved elder brother passed away in an accident, he was depressed and was on leave for about 2 months, later on he understood the responsibility to take care of his parents and started recovering from the most tragic thing happened to his family.

Now we are in 2013, next month we are going to hit our 2nd year of bizsol development, and YES! we have completed bizsol we are testing it very vigorously.

That’s the story behind bizsol, it’s another turning point in my life, I’m very great full to my mom who is the main reason for who i am now,

Dad who believed and helped me financially when i was in need also giving me 3,000 sq.ft. of madurai property surrounded by 12 huge trees, a great place to work and stay,

My younger Sister who took care of my other companies to run smoothly when i was fully occupied with bizsol,

I thoroughly enjoined this journey of developing bizsol, now we are in the process of launching it, feeling very happy and thrilled!

Children now a days

i’ve been observing the school going kids lately, cause i have a 2yr old daughter and next year i’ve to put her in a school.

Behaviour & Habits

This happened on Sunday evening, kids ranging from 6th to 10th std playing cricket in front of our home and using profanity words on each other for not playing well, i called those boys and told them that i’ll take this matter to your parents if i hear these kind of words again.

When we were kids, we used to play on the same street but never used any foul language against each other, where do now a days kids learn these kind of stuffs? TV? Internet? or Society?

The small shops around the school selling cigarets and some kind of tobacco powder that they place it under their lips, yes its shocking boys ranging from 9th to 12th std uses it, once i asked the shopkeeper on selling these stuffs to the school kids, she said “if i didn’t give some other shop will supply”. don’t these shopkeeper have their own responsibility, will they give these stuff to their own child ? or they expect the government to come and see these things?

Obesity

Children are no longer walking or riding their bicycles to school; they’re being carried to school or they’re driving themselves,
I see lot of kids using motor cycles now a days, even though they don’t have a driving licence nor at the right age to get one,

I notice two things
1) 3 out of 5 children driving motor cycles are obese.
2) girls out number the boys owning a motor cycle

Kids eat lot of junk foods and also eat what ever fancy shown on TV like kurkure, lays & lots more.

I went to KFC on a saturday afternoon which is located rite in-front of a popular school in t.nagar, surprised to see lot students in KFC few accompanied by their parents, its not healthy for the kids to get exposed to the junk foods at this young age. whom to blame this on? Parents? Friends? TV? Society?

I also notice few parents celebrating their kids birthday in some junk food restaurants, to show the status? oh come on your risking your own kid and others kids health.

Kids are like mirrors they show what is shown to them, let us show good things and be positive,
our children will follow it.
